Grilled Tomatoes Anyone?

If you have a lot of tomatoes and don't know what to do with them.  Try grilling them.
All we do is cut them in half and make the bottoms flat so they sit flat.
Put some sea salt on the cut ends, add basil, hot pepper and cheese. (They do have some alternative cheese you can use if you don't do dairy)
Broil
These are great!!

  2. I love grilled tomatoes. These look yummy and very easy to make. A perfect side to a light summer dinner. Maybe a small steak or salmon with a baked potato or even a small portion of rice.

  3. I absolutely LOVE grilled tomatoes. I have stuffed them with cheese, drizzled them with oils...no matter what, I adore them. We planted our tomato plants a little late this year so I'm a little worried that we wouldn't have a great crop this year. I can always mooch off of my neighbors, though!

  4. I have never head of grilled tomatoes before. These sound like they would make a great side at a bbq or for a light lunch. I have neighbors who have grown their own tomatoes and this would be an amazing way to cook them.

  5. Oh my gosh this looks mouth-watering. I just got back from a 2 mile run on the treadmill and I have no idea what to make for myself. This looks so easy, quick and nice and healthy (luckily i have some cheese on hand too). Mmm cook them on broil and you have yourself a nice lil' snack.

  6. Oh wow, that looks so good. I'm not the biggest tomato fan I do enjoy sauces, and the odd tomato in some foods I enjoy but this? I've never thought to try. I bet my kids and husband would really enjoy it too - so I may have to see what I can do. The cheese, is calling my name! - Jeanine

  7. This looks so good and is most def a must try. I grew up eating tomato sandwiches with may, salt pepper and some lettuce if we were lucky. I have to say that was one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten.

  9. That looks so delicious. I usually bake mine and it's also yummy. My kids don't like tomatoes, but when I make them like this, they eat it. This is also great to serve on parties.
