Before And After Window Treatment ~ I Despise Vertical Blinds

When we moved into our home, they had these ugly verticle blinds.  I hated them but never really found anything I wanted to spend my money on.

One day, I was in Ollies and found these gromet curtains for $19.99 for 2 large pannels.  I couldn't believe the price.   I could do my huge front window 140"X84" at a great price.

The curtains ended up about $80 and my Hubs ordered the curtain rod for about $100.  So doing my huge front window cost less than $200.

I still have some wondows in my house that really need to be redone.  Slowly but surely, I will get to them.

I don't know if you have an Ollies near you but they sometimes have some quality merchandise at great prices.

This isn't a review... I bought and paid for these curtains.

  1. It's so much brighter with the blinds gone. My parents have a sliding glass door in their house and had vertical blinds for years, but they were white and always looked dirty. I was glad when they got rid of them.

  3. It looks really great and made a huge difference. We have an Ollies about 45 minutes away but we don't get up that far very often but in the next couple of months we're getting on extremely close by and I can't wait!

  6. Wow your new window treatments look great and you got an awesome deal to boot! We had vertical blinds on 7 sliders and we spent a couple thousand on fabric and materials for custom drapes. My mother-in-law sewed them all and did an awesome job.

  8. I have to ask...since we don't have an Ollies...do you mind sharing the brand name and I could look them up to see if they can be ordered? I have a very large front window too and need something new. With cats in the house, I don't want to spend a fortune and these look perfect. I've looked everywhere, but haven't found what I want yet. At this price, I would be willing to try them out. The color looks just right, too. Your window and room looks great!

  17. We have vertical blinds on our sliding doors and the dogs tore them up. Now that the dogs are gone, we're trying to figure out what we want to put there. I'm thinking curtains with the remote retractable feature to match the family room.

  18. I paid more than that for the cheap blinds at our old home and they did not look nearly as good. We did put curtains over them but those cost a fortune. I love how they turned out - great job to the handy man that put them up.

  27. Those curtains do look a lot better than the blinds did. The house we purchased last year came with all the original window coverings too...from 1987 :P I need to update them starting with our bedroom ones, I'd do it asap if I could find a deal like you did!

  33. My husband loves vertical blinds! I've adjusted to them.
We have an Ollie's about 80 minutes away in Harrisonburg. Great place for housewares and rugs! My husband gets stuck in their book department and I have to go back and fetch him after I finish shopping.

The curtains cover more of the glass panels than the blinds.
