The 2 Day Liver Cleanse From Manzi

Just a Heads Up!!  Don't do anything that you see me do on this blog.  I do some pretty crazy things to heal.  They work for me.   You need to  Consult with your Health Care Professional before beginning any herbal treatment.

I don't talk a lot about candida any longer, mostly because I really don't have the problems I used to have.    One of the reasons I don't have problems is because I am always cleansing my body.

I do a liver flush once a month whether I need it or not.  In between, if a company sends me a cleanse to review,  I won't turn it down.   I have come across some excellent products that companies have let me do a review on.

My blog has not only let me meet a lot of great companies with great products but I have met some of the kindest  people and also bloggers.

Speaking of bloggers, I met BeaJay, most of you would know her by Manzanita, I happen to call her Manzi.  She writes the blog Wanna Buy a Duck .... anyway I met her on this blog because I used to talk about poop.   She couldn't believe someone had the gonads to blog about it.   When you are sick, you will blog about anything.

So, Manzi and I became very friendly bloggers.  It was like we knew each other for years.    We call each other at least once a week to talk about anything and everything.  Next year, my Hubs and I are headed to Montana to visit her.  My Hubs will hunt and I will stay back with my Dear Friend.

Here I am on the phone talking to Manzi while I am cooking my
herbs to do the 2 day liver cleanse.
Manzi was telling me she did a new liver cleanse that she developed herself.   It worked so well for her, she ask me if I wanted her to send me some of the herbs.      We decided that we were going to do a 2 day liver cleanse together.

On Thursday, November 14, 2013, We both started cooking our herbs so they would be ready for the next day when we were both starting our Liver Cleanse.

Here is the recipe we used
Manzi Two Day Liver Cleanse
(I call this our potion)

1 teaspoon Angelica
1 teaspoon Gentain
1 teaspoon Wormwood
1 teaspoon Dandelion
4 ounces fresh lemon juice
2 cups filtered water
2 Quarts Apple Juice (unsweetened)

Simmer the Angelica, Gentain, Wormwood and Dandelion in 2 Cups of water for about 20 minutes.
Cool, strain and add the herb mixture to your Apple juice, add the lemon juice and mix well.

You are suppose to sip on this all day long for 2 days.  I eat nothing when I am doing a cleanse like this.  It seems to make the herbs work better for me.

Here is my 2 Day Liver Cleanse finished and ready to go into the Frig for tomorrow.

I started drinking my brew at 7 AM and drank 1/2 cup every hour and a half.  I will do the same tomorrow.
Day one of the cleanse always goes pretty smooth for me becasue it takes awhile for the herbs to get into my system and start working.   I get a little hungry the first day but nothing major.
I even felt so good that I went outside and started cutting back my ornamental grasses for the winter
It was so nice out that I knew I better get them done.  Who knows what is coming our way.
Once it gets cold out, I don't want to be out freezing and cutting them.
Day two and I am pretty hungry!!!  I know  can't make it all day, I will eat something light like a small salad later.
I did cough a lot early on today and that is one of the things that Manzi said happened to her.   She got a sore throat with hers the last time she did it.   No sore throat for  me but just a cough.
That means it is expelling something out of my system.

I also developed this pimple like thing on the side of my upper face.  Usually that mean my body is trying to clear out the toxins.   I can also feel something moving in my eye.  Like a twitch.

Wow did I sleep good last night... Like a Log.  Must be because I got rid of a lot of toxins that were building up in my body.

  5. I would love to be able to do a cleanse like this but I have so many allergies I wouldn't be able to use the herbs. It sounds like it worked great since you slept so well.

  6. We always feel worse before we feel better. I haven't reached the debths yet, that I reached with the first one but perhaps I got rid of most of the toxins. That 1st one was a duezy. Because you are constantly cleansing, your reaction may be mild. My cleansing has been rather lax because of moving.
Take care, dear friend. We'll talk later
    With love

  7. Very interesting, Terry. I am not opposed to herb cleansing. I haven't ever done it, so I would want to start with something easy... meaning not a rough cleanse. If you are very toxic (and most people are, and I am probably pretty toxic given all the meds I've been on for my migraines) some of them will make you sick. I think it is because your body gets flooded with this junk that suddenly wants out and you feel terrible.

  8. That's cool that you have such a great blogging friend. I think it'd be better to have a friend to cleanse with than to do it alone.

  9. Sounds like an interesting idea. The doctor once put me on a special mixture of herbs that had to be boiled for hours and drank every few hours for a week. It is not easy but it really makes the body feel better.

  10. I do like natural cleansing and truly believe in it. My mom was diagnosed with lupus and it really helped her. Thanks for this recipe. I may go and try it just for the cleanse.

  11. I can totally see you and Manzanita being friends! I think she's awesome too. Her blogging has a quality about it that makes you feel like you've known her for a long time. I have little doubt I would love visiting her (and you too) and how fun that you are going to get together!!

I'm glad you found a way to detox that you endorse. I'm not adverse to trying a detox, I've just never done one yet.

  12. Interesting. I've never done a detox. I think I would be too hungry!

  13. How does this work? You don't eat anything but the mixture for the liver cleanse?

    1. Ronnie,
I didn't eat anything for 1 1/2 days. I couldn't do it for the 2 days. They say you don't have to fast. I just find it works better that way.

  14. I've been wanting to do a cleanse, but I'm always worried about needing to go (emergency) to the bathroom. I could just see me in the middle of lecture having to go.

  17. I thinking cleanses can be good for you. You'd be surprised how much toxins build up in your body.

  20. That is so cool you met such a good friend in Manzi and get to visit her! My best blogging buddy lives in Canada, so we probably won't get to meet each other in person any time soon.

That sounds like a very powerful cleanse Manzi came up with. Glad it is working for you!

  21. Does the cleanse really work? I've heard many people talk about doing them but I've always been rather hesitant of them.

    1. Kimberly,
Cleansing has made me well. But I don't get the severe die off that I used to get. Probably because I have less toxins from doing the cleanses.

  22. I haven't ever done a cleanse...but, I do know a lot of people who do. I couldn't go without eating that long...I think I'd die!

  27. I have always wanted to do a cleanse like this. One day I may get enough motivation to actually do it. Sounds like its totally worth it!

  28. I have met some wonderful friends through blogging also and we talk on the phone too.

The closes thing I have ever done to a cleanse is when I am on clear liquids for one day prior to a colonoscopy. I probably should try a real cleanse some day.

  29. I really believe in cleansing & flushing out the toxins however I have been lacking in that department lately :(

  30. Good luck! I'd be too afraid to try that!

  31. Maybe you should become an herbalogist, nutritionist, or doctor? God only knows what would start coming out of me if I did that cleanse, or any cleanse for that matter. I won't go into details - lol! Your wonderful Terry. Just thought I said it publicly. Anywho, good luck to ya both. And have a wonderful and safe trip. Will you be home for Thanksgiving?

  32. Oh, I give you a lot of credit for cleansing and this concoction sounds pretty good. All of these things are working for you Terry. You look so young and in tip top shape to me, your skin looks so smooth and healthy!

  33. I would not mind doing the cleanse but would have to still eat. Not sure how you can do it, you are stronger than I am!
