Sonray Technology ~ Kulcar Solar Powered Car Ventilator Review

In July, we took our grown kids and our Grandkids to Kill Devil Hills, NC on vacation.  On the way down, we stopped and a motel just North of Richmond, Virginia to stay the night.
We got at the motel early so decided to rest awhile and then go swimming in the pool.

After resting, we headed out to our truck to get our swimsuits.  When we got out to our truck, my Daughter noticed a crack in the windshield.   At first we thought someone had smashed it.

When we opened the truck door, we knew it hadn't been smashed,  it was so hot in the truck that we had to step back.    That is when we knew the heat had broke our window.

When Sonray Technology Inc, ask me if we would do a review of their Kulcar Solar Powered Car Ventilator, I said .. Heck Yeah!!  For sure I would do a review.

The Kulcar Solar Powered Car Ventilator is not only going to save me money on replacing broken windshields, but it could also save my life.

When I travel, I carry bottled water with me.  I know many of you have heard about plastic bottles of water not being good for us after sitting in a hot car because of the posions they create.

Installing the Kulcar Solar Powered Car Ventilator is very easy.  Believe me... it was easy.   When there were no swear words coming out of my Hubs mouth... I knew it was easy.

So here is how it looks installed.  Quick and easy.

Check out our first video on how easy the Kulcar Solar Powered Car Ventilator  Is to install and how powerful the fan is.

You can drive with this installed if you put the solar panel down, but it is so easy to install that we are going to take it in and out as needed.

We were having such a nice day today with the hot sun beating down... I thought it would be a great day to visit The Avenue Of The Flags in our hometown.

We left the Kulcar Ventilator in the car while we explored.  When we got back.. the car was noticably cooler than if it had been left sitting out in the hot sun with nothing.

I even left my bottle of water in the car and it was still cool after an hour.

The tempature inside a sealed car under blazing sun can quickly exeed 89-90 degree Celcius.  That would be about 194 degrees F.

When the temperature exceeds 65 degree Celcius, harmful fumes like methyl, acrolein, butanone, toluene, benzene, propyl benzine etc... are released from a cars interior materials.  These compounds are all known to be cancer causing poisonous chemicals.

Careful testing has proven that TVOC level of these compounds can exceed 12 times the cancer causing hazardous warning level when a car is parked under the blazing sun for only one hour.

Cancers of unidentifiable origin have been the top killer for 31 consecutive years

Volvo, a world leader in car safety has ensured that all new cars ar equipped with the CZIP system as of 2013.  When a car is parked under the sun, the CZIP system automatically pumps out the hot and hazardous air inside the car prior to the driver entering.  Leading car makers are now concerned with not only driver safety, but also passenger health and safety.

  12. This is really awesome. I love that it is solar powered and cools the car on natural energy. I had no idea that products like this one even existed. I could imagine the gas that will be saved from keeping the air conditioner in the car turned off while this is being powered by the sun.

  22. This would have come in so handy when I lived in Texas. I hated putting my babies into a hot car. I love finding eco companies and I hadn't heard of Sonray before!

  23. Crazy how heat can do that to the window! I like the name of this device. Looks like it really does do a good job of keeping the car cool!

  24. Oh my goodness my husband need this last summer! He went to a 6 week internship. He couldn't get anywhere to let him rent on a week by week basis (they all required a 6 month contract) so he just lived out of our van for 6 weeks. He was so miserable at night cause it never cooled down. This could have been so awesome for him. I seriously want one for each of our cars because one of the cars doesn't have a working AC and the other takes a long time to cool down even with AC. This would definitely help them not get too hot.

  25. WOW! I live in the Carolinas, where it gets really hot in the summertime, but I have never heard of the heat breaking someone's windshield! I never would have even thought of having a need for such a device, but your pictures speak for themselves. Sonray Tech seems like they have a great idea in place.

  26. Okay, now I really want this!! how many times this could have come in handy!!

  28. That is just so interesting! I never would have thought it would have maintained your water temp after all that time either. I always hated putting the kids into a burning hot car. This would have been so helpful!

  29. I didnt know it was even possible for your windshield to break because of heat. In Atlanta, the combined issue of heat and humidity I could see this being a problem here. The best part of this is the savings in gas. I cringe every time I go to the pump to see how painful it is going to be on my checkbook.

  30. I need something like this for my car. It gets so hot here in the summer that I have seen this happen to several friends' vehicles.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Wow, just when you think everything clever has been invented! I live in an area where it's not as hot as what you guys get, but with global warming it does seem to get warmer every summer.

  34. Seems like a good idea. How much does it cool your car?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow. It sounds perfect for hot days. Especially here in the Philippines, where summer is just too hot too handle. Literally.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I learned that they recommend putting the solar panel vertically against the window when driving. I think this would be so useful- off gassing is a major issue.

  41. This product is totally awesome. My daughter is always worried about the toxic fumes building up in a hot car. We always open the windows for 5 minutes in the summer before letting my grandson in the car. With this Kulcar ventilator I could save that time we have to wait around.
