My Hubs Weight Loss Journey ~ EatSmart Precision GET FIT Digital Body Fat Scale Review

We received the EatSmart Precision GET FIT Digital Body Fat Scale For Review Purposes. This in no way affected our review.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My Husband has been overweight for many, many years.  He has always said he wanted to lose weight. ... but he could never, never stick to a diet.    He had ask me to help him in the past and I have tried, but he needed to want to do this for himself.   You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

One day, he decided he was going to cut back and try to heal his high blood pressure.  He also had high triglycerides so he wanted to get those down so he would never become a diabetic.

Do you know,... he has started eating like I do.  Almost exactly like I do.  I guess he has seen how many things I have healed by eating the way I do.   His eating like I do is kind of funny because he said he would NEVER, NEVER eat like me.   I eat very healthy.

Here he is in July 10th on our vacation.  This is when he decided he really wanted to stick to a diet.  We have decided not to call it a diet, but a lifestyle change.   If he plans on losing and keeping it off, he will have to change all his bad habbits.... or most of them.

Much to my surprise, my Hubs has been sticking to his diet like glue, plus he has been exercising daily.

July 18th  He is really startig to slim down.  You may not be able to notice it in the picture, but I can notice.

Look at his face.  You can see his jaws angles and his face doesn't look so ballooned like it did.

Very nice job Dennis!!

Here's the problem.  He had been using the Wii for weight and body mass.  He noticed that the Wii was messing up big time... It was adding body mass one day and the next day it would be so low that it was less than my body mass.  We decided we needed a really good scale to measure his weight and body mass.

We are now using the EatSmart Precision GET FIT Digital Body Fat Scale.  This will not only measure his Body Weight, but Bone Mass, Body Fat, Body Water and Body Muscle, plus we get instant readings.  We don't have to wait around for any of the readings.

I had no idea that scales could do all this.  This scale has motivated my Hubs even more to get fit and stay healthy.

They also have many other scales that may better fit your needs so be sure to check them out.

He has put the scale in a special spot in his bathroom to be used daily, or whenever he wants to weigh himself.   I will be doing a  post every two weeks of his progress so you will be seeing and hearing a lot about this scale.

So far this is what we have.  It is like we are starting fresh.   But now that we have a quality scale that features Body Fat, Body Water, Body Muscle and Bone Mass we are set to go.

His Weight For September 18, 2013 is 240 lb

The Bone Mass Is 4.0 lb

38.0% Body Fat

Total Body Water Is 31.3% so we know he isn't drinking enough water.  The normal Total Body Water should be 42% to 56 %
Body Muscle Is 31.9%
With this EatSmart Precision GET FIT Digital Body Fat Scale, we will be able to track exactly how well the dieting and exercising is working.
This scale has already helped us since we had no idea that his Total Body Water was low.  No wonder he sometimes got headaches.

Here is what EatSmart Has to say

  1. I can't wait to hear about his progress. Good for him for sticking to his new lifestyle changes. I know better that anyone that it's not easy, but at least he's making the effort and he'll end up with accurate weight measurements.

  2. Wow I didn't know that a scale could do all that instantly. I'm happy that he decided to go on a lifestyle change. I do prefer that term than a diet. Can't wait to read about his progress. Way to go Dennis!

  3. Wow he looks great! That's awesome that you have been eating so healthy and now he's following. How do you eat so good if he has been eating the not so good? I used to eat very healthy and my hubby not so healthy and lately it seems like I've taken more of his bad habits than he has mine. :-/

  5. That is wonderful that your husband is doing so well! And though I never knew scales like this existed, I am very interested, as I need to get myself back into shape. I have noticed since hitting my early 40's that little by little the weight has picked up, and now that I am 48, it has hit me like a lightning bolt, my metabolism is null, and my weight is showing horribly. I will be checking into this company!

  8. Great job, even losing a little bit at a time can make a big difference. I have lost 65 lbs. in the past year at a rate of about 6 lbs. every six weeks and my doctor is extremely pleased with the results.

  11. This is very cool that it measures water in the body! And you are right, it has to be a lifestyle change rather than a diet.

  12. That is wonderful and good for Dennis! I know it will make your life easier as well if the two of you are eating the same way. SHould help with the grocery bill as well. :)
Now how does this thing know your water weight and bone mass by you standing on it? Did I miss something?
I need one of these! I am trying to loose and have cut back on the sugar. I drink a ton of water and little to no fried foods, plus no fast food.
Gotta look into this, thanks Terry

  20. That is pretty amazing all of the things the scale can do!! And I can see the difference in the pictures too. I'm standing behind you with the pom-poms!! Good luck to your husband in getting to where it is he wants to go with his health goals (and it sounds like he's determined enough that he will). There is a lot more benefit and happy that goes with healthy living than there is that goes with eating junk. :)
