Is Your Drinking Water Making You Sick? Check Out The New Water Purification System I Am Getting

If you are like me, having fresh, clean drinking water is VERY important.  I don't mean city water, I mean water free from all contaminats like bacteria, chlorine and flouride.

Having had candida and trying never to suffer with it again,.. I am very careful.  Two very important things for staying candida free is, eating clean and drinking clean.

Since I have city water, I have been going to this watering hole to get my drinking water.  I have to carry it up this hill and pack it into our truck.

In the winter, It gets pretty icy here so we have to be careful and not fall while we are slipping and sliding up and down the hill.  The picture doesn't look as steep as it is, but believe me... not good with snow and ice, plus the pavement slants to the left.

I then lug it home, move it out of the truck to where we store it.

Before I drink the water from the spring, I need to boil it to make sure all the (or most of it) bacteria is killed.    It is a royal pain... but I do get lots of exercise and I don't get sick from chlorine and flouride.  Drinking water free of chlorine and flouride has helped me stay candida free.

My Husband and I have been looking for awhile now for a system that gets rid of chlorine and flouride so we no longer have to go to the spring.  Have you ever tried to find a good system that removes both of these?  Really hard to find.  And... when you do find them, they remove EVERYTHING Including the good minerals that I want to keep.

Finally we found a solution to our water problem. It will get rid of the Chlorine (99%), plus there is something else to get rid of the flouride, and it doesn't take out all the minerals that our bodies need.
Why DualPlex???   Check out this chart, the pink is DualPlex .

The system is called Dual Plexx, http://hydrocareusa.com/pages/dualplexx  it is from Hydrocare.  It has 4X the Purification Capacity.   I am not sure exactly how Dual Plex works, but I am going to try to explain it in my own words.

The water from our city water lines will go through different stages.
The first stage removes sediment, iron and rust.  It also reduces microorganisms like cysts, plus it inhibits bacterial and algae growth... very important for those of us fighting candida.  The other canisters contain a high concentration of media for purification.
This will not lower the water pressure like most filtration systems because it somehow splits the water into two different canisters and double the contact time the water has with the purification media.

So, some how it keeps the pressure up in your lines so you don't get in the shower and find out there is no water pressure.

The Dual Plexx system has an 80,000 gallon capacity so normally the media only needs to be changed maybe once a year.  It really depends on your water usage.  When I read the directions, it didn't look hard to change, but that is something my Hubs takes care of anyway.

Dual Plexx is a whole house system, meaning it will filter ALL the water in my house.  That means when I take my bath, I will not be soaking up all the chlorine and flouride into my body.     I bet you didn't know your body would suck in the chlorine that is in your water... but it does.  Our body is like a sponge.

Hydrocare has different systems for your differnt needs.  It doesn't matter if you have a well or city water, they have the system that will work for you.  They also have a limescale eliminator that works without salt, chemicals or magnets.

Once I get the Dual Plexx ...( It is on the way )  I will be showing you the instalation process as we do it.

If you are looking for a whole house water filter system that will work with, well water, city water or Limescale.  This is where we got our Hydrocare http://hydrocareusa.com/

  1. I had no idea that you had to filter all your water. This is going to be great for you then!!

  2. That is such a wonderful filtration system. I have always been worried about the chlorine in our bath water. We do filter our tap in the kitchen but the whole house system would be much better.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I was looking for one for apartments, but nadda really, so use brita filter on the tap for washing food and plates and such then drag my water home too. Still feel blah knowing I'm bathing in that crap though. Sounds like a good one.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I can't wait to see the installation and will be looking into this further. We have been looking for a purification system.

    ReplyDelete
  5. This is great, my husband brings home filtered water, they have a filter at work, we don't have one here. But now I must show him this, show him how easy it can be to have at home!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I can't wait to see it all done. I'm so jealous! The water here in Colorado Springs taste horrible and so we buy our water. Now if I had this it would surely make my day! :)

    ReplyDelete
  7. We have GE's Avanata Water Purification/Softening system. Now that I can see what yours does, I am wondering how it would stack up against it...

    ReplyDelete
  8. Wow, what a lot of work you have had to go through for your water. Sounds exhausting.

I look forward to hearing more about this new system you are getting and what you think about it. We buy are water also even though our city water is not that bad.

    ReplyDelete
  9. It will be interesting to see it being installed. I saw it was supposed to be easy, but 'easy' is in the eye of the beholder. ;) :)

  10. We have RO/UV water purifier but i think it removes minerals too. This system looks something different with unique features. Looking forward to see the installation process. Thanks

  11. I'd love to have one of these. Sometimes our tap water tastes so terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  12. All should have one now a days if able

    ReplyDelete
  13. This sounds like a great system that will save you a lot of time and stress. We have well water that is filtered through a salt filtration system. It removes the iron, but who knows how much salt is getting into the water?! I am looking forward to your next post about this water filter. Good luck with it!

    ReplyDelete
  14. truly clean water is definitely hard to come by these days. i hope this helps your family

    ReplyDelete
  15. Sounds like a great system. Our water comes from an underground stream, and we use an ultraviolet light to kill bacteria.

    ReplyDelete
  16. That sounds fabulous and I look forward to hearing if it does what it claims.
We live in the country and have well water. We had a new well and pump put down last year as I old one was contaminated. I too can not drink 'city' water. Makes me sick.

  17. I totally know how you feel! We also had to install a filtration system since we have a well. The tap water was coming out red! I didn't move into this house until it was installed...so dangerous.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I would be interested to read about how this works. While I live in a place with pretty clean water now, I grew up in a metropolitan area, and it wasn't uncommon for the water to come out brown or red when my mother would begin running it for our baths. Totally gross and DANGEROUS.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't really touch the water in our place. Or anywhere really. Unless it's from a bottle. My husband calls me a freak but honestly tap water to me tastes like blood/metal.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thanks for showing us where you get your water now. A pretty spot but I bet any hill is a royal pain in the winter. I carried water all last winter at the ranch. For a couple months I didn't dare drive in and I had to carry the water jugs over the long snow drift where the SUV would have gotten stuck. Back and forth, back and forth. Now that WAS a royal pain too, but what we won't go through for good water.

I am so very much looking forward to your new water system. Love you, love you.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It's so scary what can be in the water - I remember getting very ill from some contaminated water as a child, over all our water here is very clean though so thankfully we don't need to worry about it too much but it just makes it taste so much nicer I think if you filter it x

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hopefully, I'll be reading this filtration system works wonderfully for you. Lugging water (uphill) and boiling to remove impurities has got to suck. I pray this is the answer.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm glad we now have pure water available in our taps :) But good luck in your new system. I used to live in a metropolitan city and then water condition was worse so I can feel you :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. This is really interesting. I think too many people take for granted that their drinking water is safe, but our town recently had ecoli in their water and we had to boil for 4 days straight. I'll be interested to keep reading when you get it!

    ReplyDelete
  25. This is going to be such a great system for you Terry! Hopefully it will save you a lot of time, and will be much safer for you than navigating an icy hill in the winter. Can't wait to hear more about it!

    ReplyDelete
  26. This would be nice to have. I have the water filter bottles and Brita. Looking forward to hearing more about it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. We have a water purifier for the fridge so I will be interested to see your progress.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wow! I couldn't imagine having to go up and down that hill to get water! At least you've found something to filter your water and still get the things that are good for you in it! I can't wait to see the installation process!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I am really anxious to hear about the installation of the water filter system. I only drink filtered water and most of it is with a high PH level. I have done some research about that and have started drinking that for my health. It is a bummer that you have to go up and down the hill for water but I don't even have any place near me to get it.

  30. I used to have problems with the drinking water when we lived on base and I did like you. Now we have an awesome purifier on our fridge. I can't stand having awful tasting water.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Awesome post. I either buy bottled water or we have a filter.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I worry a lot about how clean our drinking water is. It's great to know that there are safe alternatives should we find out that our water supply has been compromised, at any point.

    ReplyDelete
  33. This is amazing especially since it filters all the water and not just your drinking water. I can't wait to hear how it works for you. I always buy bottled drinking water because I like the taste and tend to drink more that way but I know the bottles are not good on the environment...

    ReplyDelete
  34. Its no fun having to lug all those bottle of water back. Glad you found a good water purifying filter :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have been thinking about a filtration system for a while! I guess it is time to stop thinking about it and finally getting one!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Very good reading here.
I'd love to have my home under total water treatment

    ReplyDelete
  37. OH I'm excited to hear more about this water filtration system! We have good water right now, but in a few months we will be moving to an area that has horrible water. And i really don't want to have to go buy bottled water for the rest of my life.

    ReplyDelete
  38. It's a great system . We have a basic system because water here is raw.

  39. You are right, I didn't know our bodies absorb chlorine out of the water but it makes sense. This sounds like a great filtration system! We are currently renting, but I will definitely keep this in mind when we own our own home.

    ReplyDelete
  40. We use filtered water only. I know my skin gets blotchy when getting out of the shower during certain times of the year. I think it's from bleach that they put in the water. Disgusting that they put bleach in our water some times during the year!

    ReplyDelete
  41. This will make your life so much easier. I'm really glad you're getting this system!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yikes, I so need to get a system!

    ReplyDelete
  43. This system is what we need, our water taste like chlorine which really ruin the taste of fresh water. Gotta check this out!

  44. Candida or not, clean water is essential to good health. This looks like it will be a great addition to your current lifestyle

    ReplyDelete
  45. That's great you guys found out a healthy and best way for you to drink water. This sound a nice system to check out.

    ReplyDelete
  46. There's no way you could drink the water over here directly from the tap. We filter and boil our drinking water. This sounds like a good system.

    ReplyDelete
  47. thank you for sharing your review...i think we can all benefit from a system like this.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I look forward to your updates. We are thinking of replacing our filtration system.

    ReplyDelete
  49. This is pretty interesting. I need to look into it. I am not sure that our tap water is the best.

    ReplyDelete
  50. great review..i buy bottle water sometimes and i also have a filter.

    ReplyDelete
  51. My mom owns a water station and we sell Mineral, Purified, Alkaline, and Ozonated water. That's why I know I thing or two about this. We don't have a system installed at home since we get our water from our store in bottles for our hot and cold dispenser. :)

  52. That is an awesome purification system - how interesting that we both wrote about fluoride at the same time :)
I guess the more of us spread the world about its dangers (and for chlorine as well), the more people will learn.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Our family always uses water purification because you just never know what you're drinking in your water. This purification system sounds wonderful/

    ReplyDelete
  54. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it! Our water seems fine, but I could always use that guarantee! Thanks for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Great ideas, you never know what exactly is in that water and I dont think Id want to yuck!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Amazing. I know of filters, but none as powerful as this. I have issues w/the taste of water here, and I would love to be able to drink straight from the tap as well.

While I have potable drinking water in my home, I still prefer to filter it with Brita as I dislike the smell of chlorine in it. I have never heard of this system though and can't wait to read your update.

  62. I had to stop over and look back at the information. We really need to do something about out tap water. I am always worried about all the contaminants in our water.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm glad you found a good water filtration system. I should probably get one. I know the water is really bad where I live.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I bring so much filtered water to work.

    ReplyDelete
  65. all my water bottle are filtered.

    ReplyDelete
  66. It just dawned on me how healthy water is unless it is full of contaminants, then it's so horribly unhealthy.

    ReplyDelete
  67. This is going to be really great for you.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I've been trying to use glass containers for all my liquids to. In fact just yesterday I bought my milk in a glass container. I heard that the plastics can be bad when the product sits in any form of heat. I never know if what I read is entirely accurate. Sheryl Crow got breast cancer, and was drinking out of plastic water bottles that sat in her car all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  69. i heard a lot of people alway's complaing about how bad their tap water tastes funny.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Our tap water tastes really good, but apparently it is very poor quality water. In fact, it's one of the worst in the nation.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I have been to some places where the water tastes really bad.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I drink filtered water too. I don't have to for a medical reason like you but I just feel it is safer. I can't wait to see how well this works for you, I'll be watching for the installation.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Don't kill me but nothing tastes better than Lake Michigan water. Hmm, I saw your post on your filtration system and that is good you are making changes for your health.

  74. I hate the thought of having really contaminated water. There is no telling what you could be putting in your body by drinking it.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I have a water filter on my fridge, but I hate replacing it because it's more than fifty dollars every time.

  83. There have been a lot of cases of Ecoli in the drinking water lately, it's scary.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I had no idea that you had to go fetch your water from a watering hole like that. This system sounds like it was made for someone like you. I never let my kids drink tap water without putting it through a filter. Ick.

    ReplyDelete
  85. This would be great to have. I always drink filtered water because you really never know what is floating around inside. With a little one in our home you can never be too safe.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Glad you found a great way to help you with your water needs.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I have been looking at getting a water filter for our home as well! This sounds great!

    ReplyDelete
  88. I can't believe all the trouble you had to go through to get clean drinking water. I'm glad you found a really good filter.

    ReplyDelete
  89. we have such hard water. I've been looking at whole house filters too. Nothing worse on your skin then hard water!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Sounds like a great filtration system. Right now we just use a Brita filter which seems to do the trick.

    ReplyDelete
  91. PLEASE be careful with a system like this. My neighbor had one installed by the precious homeowner. It flushes itself every other day (THE WHOLE TANK). It floods the yard, has started to flood her wall and is seeping into the kitchen behind the stove. It's going to cost her $350 to shut it off.

    ReplyDelete
  92. We live completely on well water, and despite an over abundance of calcium in the water, it's not bad, haha. Filtered water has a weird taste to me anymore...

    ReplyDelete
  93. Looks like a great filtration system!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Since Flouride is pretty much like poison I want to rid it from my drinking water too! I am going to check this filtration system out right away!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Looks like a great system! It scares me what could be in our water!

  105. This will definitely be a good thing for you to get rid of everything ucky! What a difference and help this purification system will be!

    ReplyDelete
  106. We just drink the filtered water from our refrigerator. I never really thought about water making someone sick before!

    ReplyDelete
  107. Wow you won't know what to do with all your free time not having to trek up the hill and carry all those bottle and jugs of water. I can't imagine drinking water making you sick - we drink mostly bottled water, but we are lucky enough to have some great city water (best in the state)

    ReplyDelete
  108. I love how careful you are, it seems like you made a lot of lifestyle changes that are really working for you. I like to visit and see what you've got going on. We have well water here, so we tote our water too (it's tested drinkable but we have a hard time bearing it...lots of rust even with a top-of-the-line water softener).

    ReplyDelete
  109. I am on city water after not having been for my whole life, and I can definitely taste the chemically difference. I imagine this filtration system will definitely give you a lot more free time not lugging water up a hill!

    ReplyDelete
  110. We depend on the water in our houses for so much. It is important to do all we can to make it as clean and health as possible.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I often worry about the health of my water. Like chlorine levels and all of that. Ours has TONS of calcium too.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I grew up on city water before moving in with my husband who has well water. There was a difference in taste which had me wondering just what all was in that city water...

  113. We filter our water at home but I like your method very much. It's a good idea to filter it even for metals that come form the pipes.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Sounds like a wonderful filtration system. We have a filter on our kitchen sink, but a whole house filtration system would be great.

    ReplyDelete
  115. What an interesting filtration system. I am constantly concerned about what is in our drinking water.

This is a great reminder to everyone that safe and potable water source is truly a blessing. Many people don't have enough clean water to consume and I hope having a water filtration at home will make sure that we have a steady supply of clean water.
