Snorting Baking Soda To Clear My Sinuses ~ This Un Stuffed My Nose Really Fast !!

With the cold season upons us... many of us are getting stuffed up noses.  Not only from colds and flu, but just from the house being closed up for winter.

Just want to tell you up front.... Don't try any of the hair brained ideas I come up with, especially Don't try this, it  burns clear up into my hair line.   But... my sinues are so clear now that I just might do it again.    Please check with your Dr before you try anything I do... Please!

I have been using baking soda in my netti pot with great results, but I wanted a stronger concoction than what I have been doing so...

I got a straw out of my cupboard and put some baking soda down in a line.  Hahahha.... I was laughing at myself the whole time.

Now, this may look like I know what I am doing, but believe me..... I don't!1   However, I have watched enough TV to figure it out.

OMGosh, my eyes rolled back in my head and my sinuses burned clear up into my hair.   It only lasted a couple of minutes and then I was in the bathroom blowing my nose.    Whoo Hooo!!  I can breathe clear again.

Again  Don't Try This!!

    1. It burns like the devil doesn't it. But it clears my sinuses right away. I just hope it doesn't burn my nasal cavity out. I don't do it unless it is a last resort.

  29. I thought they used dollar bills in the movies! I would be very afraid of snorting it though I do use it in a neti pot as well.

  30. Brave woman, I would never go your way, but I hate sinuses so much. I tried garlic for myself a while ago, I do not think it worked but the experience was unforgettable.

    1. I have no idea how to get it out. How much did you snort???

  36. How about diluting it in some saline solution? Snort it as a liquid and maybe the buffering-action of the saline will prevent it from burning so much. Also swig honey first so that coats your throat so that does not burn too when it comes outta the nasal- passages into your throat.. Baking soda does kill mold so logically, that should work. Lime juice works but burns like hell: not so much IN the sinuses but the back of the throat. But that works. I tried it.
