My Husbands Sinus Infection ~ Doing Very Well Now

NOTE: This blog is for my own healing, if you read and try something I do... you will be trying it at your own risk.  I do some pretty crazy things to heal, some work, some don't.  So please, check with your doctor before you do anything I do.

My Hubs has had a reoccuring sinus infection for about 3-4 years now... Pretty much ever since we moved into this house.

I keep telling him to use a q tip and put Oil Of Oregano up his nose as far into his sinuses as he can get it.  He refused for a long time.... at least a year.

Yesterday, he had such a headache, plus he was probably tired of me nagging .... so.... He tried the Oil Of Oregano.

Do you know, his headache started going away and his sinuses cleared out.    Today, his headache is completely gone and he does not sound stuffy.  If you could see me.... you would see I am doing the " I told you so dance"

Oil of Oregano is powerful stuff.... and  I don't recomend any one put it up their nose like I do.  It really burns sometimes.  It can burn your skin.   I do it but....  You better check with your docotor before you try it... .

UPDATE!!  we use some olive oil mixed in with the Oil Of Oregano and it will help to keep from burning so much... plus it keeps the sinuses moister.

Please check with your Dr before trying anything you see on this blog.

  1. I've never heard of Oil of Oregano and I doubt most DRs. have either. Where do you get it? My adult son has sinus infections about twice a month.....in other words nearly always. I'd like him to try this.

  2. I tried oil of oregano when I had chronic sinus infections but it didn't do much. Instead I tried the protocol laid out in the book "Sinus Survival" by Dr. Robert Ivker. His suggested program includes the anti-candida diet. I pretty much followed what the book suggests plus replaced my neti pot with an electronic nasal irrigator. It took some time but I'm sinus infection free now for the first winter in a decade.

  3. Glad to hear your sinuses are doing better Sheree. I will have to remember this, just incase he has problems later.

  4. Glad it worked for him. Following from the Find New Friends bloghop! I was on an anti-candida "crazy" diet back in Oct. and have been wanting to start again. Haven't found my complete motivation yet. I have 6 books here. Need to read again and start again.

  5. As soon as I notice sinus pressure symptoms I get started with my neti pot with a saline solution (mild) and rinse my nasal passages. This has always helped. It cleans out the lower passages, and subsequently gives mucus somewhere to drain. I also start drinking this mixture: a little water with olive leaf extract, echinacea, goldenseal, chinese ginsing and a packet of Emergen-C (good source of vitamin C and many nutrients ... but also to kill the taste of the goldenseal!) ... twice daily. These have a variety of positive effects on the immune system. Try it and let me know if it worked for you...
