Have Any Of You Tried Oil Pulling???

I tried oil pulling a couple of years ago....that was back when I thought I had acid reflux.  It didn't go over so well with me then, but now that I have my candida under control, I decided to do it again.

I know some of you are wondering....WHAT THE HECK IS OIL PULLING?  Well, Oil Pulling is the age-old art of putting oil in your mouth to draw out the toxins in the body.    When you draw out the toxins, it helps you to heal your candida.

I don't know if it is drawing toxins out of my body but my teeth feel so much cleaner and never get that build up feeling.  My gums even feel so much better than they have been.
I will tell you how to oil pull at the end of this post.

I Started  Oil Pulling on June 6, 2010.  I only use maybe a half  of a tablespoon full of oil.  I use cold pressed organic olive oil.  You can use other oils but they really should be organic and cold pressed.

Now, I am not sure of all the health benefits of oil pulling but here are some of them....and I am not sure I believe it can do all it is touted to do...but .....  I do think it helps to clean the mouth and keep candida from growing.

Health Benefits
1. Strengthens Teeth/gums
2. Prevents tooth decay
3. Prevents Decreases/Malodor
4. Repairs loose teeth
5. REVERSES Gingivitis
It can also help with
Sinus Problems
Constipation
Bronchitis
Menopause
Cancer
Chronic Diseases
How To Oil Pull

The first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, take about a tablespoon of oil into your mouth and swish back and forth, side to side for 15-20 minutes (Try not to swallow the oil).   Rinse your mouth and brush your teeth.  Thats It!!!

If any of you do this....Please let me know if it  has helped you or not.
I really enjoy the clean feeling that my teeth have.

Update... Sometimes I Use Coconut Oil instead of Olive Oil

  1. do you know why it has to be on an empty stomach? I am interested in trying this but not sure if I have that much time in the mornings. Evenings would be good for me but might not work? Keep us updated on how you feel as you go.

  3. I don't know why it said to do the oil pulling on an empty stomach but it also said if you can't, just choose a time of day that is comfortable for you and do it.

  5. Craziness. This just sounds so crazy... just because I wonder how it was discovered! How silly, when you think about it! But, I have no doubt that it works, if you say it does, Terry! Sounds fascinating!

  6. What kind of oil are you suppose to use?

  7. Organic Sesame or Sunflower oil is the best. I have been using whatever organic cold pressed oils I have.

I notice that my teeth are not as sensitive as before and my gums seem much healthier.

  8. I have heard that coconut oil is really good for this. It has the benefit of being antimicrobial. I wouldn't use my Tropical Traditions Gold Label oil that I recently won, though. ;)

  9. outsiderein,
It is funny you should mention that. I did it with coconut oil for the first time this morning. I think I like the coconut oil the best.

  10. I have done oil pulling and it really works for me when I have a sensitive or decaying tooth. It has improved my teeth stability as well as whiten/clean teeth. I think it also helps clear my mind. I don't do it regularly but fully intend to do so. I also read to do it on an empty stomach, however, I have read blogs where some do it several times a day or some do it morning and evening. So I'm not really sure why it's important to do it in the morning. The first times I did it, it did make me gag. I also read not to spit the oil into the sink because it is full of toxins (also the reason you should not swallow any of it). My husband could not do olive oil because it got so thick and just grossed him out. I have done organic sunflower oil which has a light nice taste so doesn't gag me. I've heard of others who use only coconut oil. Coconut oil has many other health benefits so do your research on that as well!

  12. Thanks to you Terry, I have been pulling for over a month now, and it has worked wonders. My gums are getting healthier, my skin feels better, and I am the most 'regular' I have been in my entire life. I know some people say mornings are too hard, but I thought I would share that I felt the same way, but have worked it into my routine. I try to make sure it is the first thing I do when I get up, no coffee, nothing. If that doesn't work, I will still pull, while I am in the shower. It has become a part of my every day life, and I am so thankful for it. Also, for me, I have both coconut oil and sunflower oil, and I switch every couple of days. There is no reason for it, just to change things up, as I have both in the house. I do prefer the coconut. Thank you again Terry, for your posts, I cannot tell you how much they have helped me!
