  1. Hi Terry
Its Katie again. Just reading this post and I must admit that I had many of these symptoms when my candida was really bad years ago. I benefited a lot from seeing a naturopath to help me to identify which foods to cut out as the candida causes temporary food intolerances. If it helps I dont get any of these symptoms now and I used to be really bad. Good luck! katie x

  5. Hi Kass,
Most of these are also the symptoms for parasites.

  6. I live on a very small budget, so going to lots of specialists, buying exotic things are just not feasible. I do not even have a regular doctor since I have been on Medicare. I used to go to a local free clinic for regular checkups, etc. but I cannot go now. The doctor who was supposed to be the one I see does not accept Medicare patients, which is why I spent over 5hrs in the ER the other day. My daughter in law insisted on paying for me to go as I did not have the $65 copay. The doc seemed annoyed I was taking his time (he was busy that night) and not really sure of my diagnosis with my horrendous rash (everywhere skin touches skin) and my 'weepy', swollen ear. I have had minor rash under my arms for several months, but a couple weeks ago, it became a solid mass and it has gone to other places mentioned. Itches and smells (no one else seems to notice, but I do). My ear has been 'weeping' where it attaches to my head for quite some time, I do sleep on that side so thought the heat and darkness may have something to do with it. Sorry, I just keep blabbering, but I am getting very upset with this mess and I need to keep calm to keep the blood pressure down! Always something it seems! Judy

  7. Judy,
I sent you an email. You can get through this, but it does take a lot of hard work and eating strict. NO FUN

    Hi

I have bee battling Candida for some time now and just re-going through the die off process but I also am not in a position to afford the supplements and items needed for cleansing. Is it possible to do the diet without them?

I am sure it can be done... but you need to eat very alkaline. It took months of alkaline food to get my body even able to digest.

You might want to do a lot of smoothies made from vegetables. That way it is already partly digested and your body doesn't have to work so hard.

You can try using herbs you have around the house like garlic, cayene, cloves. Off hand that is all I can think of. My sister swears by garlic.... Me... not so much.

  10. Hi and thank you for putting this blog together. Are you familiar with aquagenic pruritus? It's a condition of severe deep itching after water contact. I'm wondering if there is a connection between AP and candida. Any thoughts?

  11. Hi Beckie,
Thank you so much for your kind comments.

I don't know if there is a connection between AP and Candida, but I used to get a terrible itch on my shoulders in the winter. Turned out to be candida related.

Is this water from your house, because chlorine and flouride aggravate candida. So it is a big possibility.

I must mention that Candida is not only a woman problem. Yeast infections spreads very easily to men especially uncircumsised man like me. I got treated 6 months ago for mild symptoms of candida. They also provided me a cortison cream mixed with canestin. My condition got better since then but I know candiose is still there. I really belive that proper diet helps. It even has a impact on a 2 to 3 days time lapse for me. If I eat alot of wheat or raw sugar I get bloaty.

There is alot of taboo conserning Candida and not enough research.

On most official source, Candidosis symptoms are attributed to those that as a lowered immune system (diabetes hiv etc.). I really believe that this condition touches a broader proportion of the population. Although for many it is more descreet. Such as me or other people on this site.

Anyway keep up the good work

    Mark

  16. Hi Terry,

Just found you blog and looks like lots of useful info :-)

I believe I have Candida but only suffer from bad breath - possibly brain fog too?

The bad breath started 20 ears ago at age 17 whilst taking broad spectrum antibiotics constantly for 3 years (minocin) for acne treatment.

It affects every aspect of my life and my confidence is a shadow of what it once was.

Just thought id say hi whilst reading through your blog :-)

    1. Spec10,
It could be candida because when it acts up, I notice bad breath myself. Have you tried giving up sugar products to see if it helps?

  17. Thanks soo much for the reply :-) I have not tried giving up sugar - is that likely to help? I don't take any added sugar - I use sweeteners in drinks - Would a pro boitic help too?

    1. Giving up sugar is a good start. Yeast feeds on sugar, bread etc. Here is a link to the candida diet I used http://www.myjourneywithcandida.com/2010/02/candida-diet.html

Also at the top of my blog I have a Table of contents you might want to look at. A lot of candida posts there.

  19. Ok just done the spit test and it has the traits associated with Candida - large string of saliva falling to bottom of glass within a couple of seconds...Thinking about diet when i have been on a health kick previously i have felt my breath is better although cannot confirm as i have never spoken to anyone about this. At the time I would have been limiting bread, pastry, alcohol, sugar ect....so makes sense...

    1. I don't rely on the spit test. I don't know of any accurate way to test for candida. I just go by how my body feels.

hai, Your blog had been a help for me. After many years of struggling with what the docters diagnosed me with 'IBS' terrible diarrhea attacks, stumach cramps etc. After being so fed up and the docters doing nothing i discoverd the anticandidadiet and im on my 2nd week ( been tested no parasites etc accordingly to doc) i stil have sugar cravings and after having a week pounding headche it stopt! Could that be one of the die off symtoms? I get extremely pms-y too is that the candida too?it hard for me as i am a vegan so i need to pay attention i get all my vitamins/protein etc...Accordingly to the doc im not ''alllergic'' to gluten and milk ( wich i dnt even eat for 9 years) but im almost 100% convinced its the candida wich makes me temporarily intolrent for cetrain foods...how long would you recommend me bein on this diet?till i just 'feeel better'? as everyone keeps talkin about dieng off symtpoms? What are those?soory my engish isnt 100% as im a dutch lady, love hannah

  21. This is quite an extensive list! I suffer from some of these things, but I've learned not to jump to conclusions without seeing a physician first. It does sound awful though and I feel for you and what you must be going through.

    1. Ella, I didn't get your question. I am not a Dr so I don't know if I would be able to answer it anyway. I am just a normal person who happened to get lucky enough to figure out how to heal themselves with herbs and healthy eating habits.
